Improviganza in Liverpool

Fools at Metal

Fools at Metal

It was a full week of improvisational theatre in Liverpool this month as the Academy arrived just in time for the beginning of a 30 hour improv by the Improvathon guys at the Kazimer. Several of them took time out to come and join in with Jonathan Kay’s Fooling workshops and inspired a week of thoughts and discussions on what is the difference between straight improv and Fooling? Came to the conclusion that although Fooling uses improvisation in its structure it is only an aspect of the overall structure, and is completely different in style than that of a  ’Whose Line is it Anyway?’ set up. It was really exciting to explore Fooling from new angles and through challenging discussions discovered more about the work! Liverpool is a great place to perform and not scared to push buttons, igniting juicy conflicts to bounce from and perform with. Worked in some great spaces and would like to say a big thank you to Metal and the Black-e for their support and the NOVAS Contemporary Urban Centre and Kazimer for the use of their lovely spaces.
